Open Question: UPDATED Hm, this is a tough one. What would you do?

So we went to look at a horse today, to find out it's one of those places with 20+ horses, and they have no time/money for them. We got there, and there's no water for any of them. She was telling us about why they don't have it now (she filled it a little when she got there), and it's hard to explain, but still...the horses were so thirsty before she got home. I would have gone to the grocery store, and bought all the jugs of water they had. The horses all crammed into paddocks that aren't big enough for one horse (housing 2 or more horses). None of them are skinny, they actually look healthy at first glance, but then you look at their feet. They're a bit overgrown, and SO dry. One horse has a huge wound and an extremely swollen leg, which she says she cannot get to heal, and the vet has been out there a ton for it. But...it's not wrapped, it's dirty, and she's out with two other horses that could hurt it. So, the horse we are looking at looks pretty healthy, stocked up in the back from virtually not moving for 2 months, and long feet, but fairly healthy looking, and personable. So we took her out to ride, and she was very good...but the poor thing was in pain from her feet! She didn't want to walk. It's harder to see from the ground, but when you get on her you can feel it. She was still making her canter and stuff. When I got on her, I walked her a bit, trotted a few strides in each direction, and said I don't want to hurt her, so I'm not going to do anymore. The owner said we could go on a trail ride to softer ground (we were riding in a round pen, with lots of rocks). She had showed me the horse's feet, and they were totally flat. So, the owner hopped on her horse who hasn't been ridden in 6 months bareback, no helmet, and we went on the trail ride (I wouldn't have, but I knew that even if I didn't go, someone else would make the poor horse, so I figured I'd at least try her out on the trail), and she was hurting on the rocks, it just broke my heart. There was one point she planted her feet, and we decided to head back (I really wasn't trying to make her move, just kind of gave her a little squeeze, and pretended. So we didn't make it to the "soft ground"). Normally, I'd totally pass up a lame horse, but I really liked this mare, and I feel bad for her. My question is, how did her feet (and all the other horses' feet) get in this condition if they haven't been ridden? They weren't completely overgrown. And most importantly, is it fixable? Thanks! *UPDATED* I would love to take the horse, the only thing is that I am looking for a horse with potential to jump 3'6"+ courses someday. The owner was showing me how when she presses down on the horse's sole, it has "give" (almost a little squishy)...is that fixable? more

Open Question: Who should pay for car repairs?

I and my B-I-L were using my 4 wheel drive truck to pull some concrete stairs on my Mom's home remodel. The B-I-L was driving, I set the chain, he put it in 4WD-Low and pulled the stairs. We then loaded the truck to take extra siding back to the store, 18 miles away. He left, called 30 minutes later, broke down on the side of the road. Had truck towed, mechanic says engine is siezed, B-I-L never took it out of 4WD-Low and ran it 15 miles at 60 MPH. Granted it's an older truck but it was in good running condition, was our second car. Who should pay for the repairs? more

Open Question: Where should I store my cereal?

Sounds like a funny question to ask. lol! Should I store my cereal in the fridge or freezer? The reason I ask is because, when I put them on top of the fridge after they have been open n go back to get more bugs are in them. I live in an apartment so mostly everyone that lives or lived in a apt know the drill. Anyways, it don't matter how much I spray or whatever the bugs won't go anywhere. The plug behind my fridge has like an open, it has been cracked and broke off, n I think that's where the bugs are coming from. I'm so sick of bugs getting into my cereal or anything I store on top of my fridge. So which is better fridge or freezer? I'm not storing the cereal in the cabinets either. All serious answers thanks n advance, n what do you think I should put over the open part of the plug behind my fridge.Don't have time for the jokes, too early! Open Question: How do I get a hold of somebody ripping me off AT CHASE BANK?

I get statements that never match my Email Alerts. I Go Online and everytime the account its lower then there alerts say. You can't reply to these lieing alerts check for your self. And cash back at the grocery store cost 2 bucks when they do it for free about 30 bucks a month for this bank.In just those fees. Any better banks out there? more

I recently bought this Expensive laptop, and can't stand the thing! It cost me 800 bucks, I should have just bought an Asus for a fraction of the price and installed new parts. So what are some good reasons I can give to the store I bought it from to get my full amount back, they have a stupid 15% restocking fee, any good hardware problems new laptops have? more

Open Question: iPod touch turns off when unplugged.?

I have an 8g iPod touch (I am pretty sure it's 2g model, could be wrong) that for some reason only seems to work lately when it is plugged in. The instant I unplug it it shits off, and will not turn on by conventional methods. In fact the only way I have been able to get it to come back on is by plugging it back in and just waiting for it to start itself back up, which I have found to take anywhere from 30 minutes to over 24hours. This iPod used to be jailbroken, but it recently crashed and I had it restored and everything was completely wiped. Since then it worked for a good 3 weeks but in the last week this problem has been occurring. Please do not tell me to take it to the apple store as A) I am already aware that is an option and B) I want to see what I can do first, as I have had a wide range of problems with this specific iPod in the past and I was able to resolve them on my own. Any help/tips are appreciated. more

Open Question: help my wife will not speak to me?

My wife and i have been separated for about a month she is living with her dad. She was sick last week and spent a couple of days with me and I ask her what is was wrong since I could tell something else beside being ill was wrong. She said she could sense that something wasnt right about me and I expained that I wanted to have a life of my own and her a life of her own then we have a life togetehr. She said I came off cocky and wanted me to bring her to her dads. I brought her to her dads last thursday night and then friday we were together all day at her dads and on saturday, she said she felt that good in a long time. She has a school paper due on tuesday so she wanted to do a paper on sunday and i asked if i could just come over and grill and she said she would take a raincheck so i told her i wanted to see her monday and she said she wanted that too. saturday night she text me and said she loves me and misses me and it hard not being with me, i text back and told her the same. sunday morning she text me in the morning and said she was going for a walk and to tell my mother i said hello since i was going to see my mom since i couldnt see her sunday. i said i would tell my om she said hello and wished her good look with her paper and she said she would keep me up to date. thirty minutes later she said i should not mess with her credit information (i have been trying to help her reastablish credit so she gave me permission to open credit card offers so i opened an offer and then went a step further i didnt have permission to do and applied for her thinking i could get a real credit card for her and surprise her with it) and if i did i would be arrested, she didnt want to see me and was better without me, she wanted me to get her phone number changed and to come to the att store to do but i was already at my sisters then on to my moms out of town. she text me back and said she would take care of it so she got a new phone and now there is no way to contact her. Monday i went over to her dads place and she wouldnt come out and talk to me and her dad came down and told me to leave to let things simmer down, i told him what was wrong and he said she was furious that i treated her bad when she was sick. i have apologized to her through her email, dad, daughter and mom and sent her flowers and candy on monday. she accepted the flower and the delivery guy said she took them and said her eyes were red and smiled when she got them. she still refuses to talk to me (tuesday-today) and i dont know what to do. I went over to her dads hosue again tonight and explained i was sorry at the front door but her dad wouldnt let me in and she didnt want to talk to me. i explained to him that i was sorry for what i did that i didnt know i was treating her bad when she was sick. i told him i loved her and did the best i could for her and her daugther, im guessing she could hear me too. i left and im at home and lost as to what to do now, i need help she will not communicate with me and im afraid if i dont tell her somehow every day which is hard since i cant speak to her i will lose her and she will file for divorce, what do i do PLEASE HELP.one more thing my wife has huge insecurity and emotional swings, i work until 4 each day and was offered a few weeks back to go to a ballgame with men old enough to be my dad which i got the offer at 3:45 and text her and asked her to come and she said she had school work, so i said i really wanted her to come and she said she couldnt so i asked if i could and she said ok have fun, 30 minutes later she text me and said F-You im no good a liar and out to cheat on her. I need help, one minute she is hot and the next cold, Im on eggshellsshe was engaged about 6 years ago to another man and she accused him of looking at other women and i found that she was violent as she has been we me. she said she called off that wedding because his mother tried to plan their wedding but i believe there is much more going on than that.she raised a daughter all alone without help since she was 18 her daughter is now 18, her mom always told my wife if friends didnt work out that she needed to go find new ones (basically told her to run which is what she does with me when we argue or what im saying which makes sense and i get accused as being mean or yelling at her, she will just get up and leave) and her dad is very passive and he left her mom when she was 20, he stockpiled toilet paper and left and he was found in las vegas later on that year, he had a gambling problem and has been in next to his mom out of state where her mom and dad are from to this day. her mom would get on her dad to get a job and he wouldnt have sex with her mother. her mother is really religious.all i was saying is we need a life apart from another so we dont smother each other.GUYS ALL I WAS TELLING HER IS WE SHOULD HAVE OUTSIDE INTEREST AND THEN HAVE OUR MARRIAGE SO WE DONT SMOTHER EACH OTHERGuys if Im able bare and not being able not talking to her (i have no way to other than an old email or her mom or dad) when will she call me, I do belive she still cares and loves me although maybe not in love with me. more

Open Question: Does anyone else (Particularly my fellow cashiers.) hate wearing their nametag?

I've managed to get away with not wearing it for almost a year, because a lot of people who have been there longer than I have don't. It just makes me uncomfortable. When my hair was grown out, I usually just wore it down to cover it, but with that not there, it's just an excuse for creepy old men to stare at my boobs. (It sounds cocky and paranoid, I know, but not even the angriest/most thrilled customer ever called me by name unless it was some creepy dude who's eyes never made it back up to my face, even though I wear the tag practically on my shoulder for that reason.) It would be different if it were a necklace/lanyard or something. What makes it worse is that now they're adding bling. We get these little pins that hang off of it when we do something good, even though there's no indication that that's why they're there, and the most ridiculous addition has been a 4"x6" ad for the store's credit card, to be pinned under the tag, even though we're required to speak to the customers about it, anyway. If they want to fill out a survey, my cashier number is on their receipt. If they ask my name, I'll gladly tell them. Otherwise, I don't see a need. more

A few weeks ago I got the number of a women thats a frequent customer of my store and everything was going good despite the face that shes married. We talked maybe 4 or 5 times on the phone and it seemed like I was very close to sleeping with her. Then out of the blue she stopped returning my calls, I went from talking to her nearly every other day then never. I called her for the last time about 2 weeks ago but the other night a co worker said she came into my store and was looking for me but didn't ask but looked around in the section where she knew she would find me. Does anyone know what I should do. Ive been playing it cool and shit but I saw her the other day but I couldn't talk to her cause I was working and she just smiled at me and waved I dont know what to do.Yea I know shes married but its pretty much over between her and her husband. more

Open Question: Car amplifier settings?

Hi everyone, I've just recently gotten a 12'' JL Audio WX subwoofer (http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_subs.php?series_id=36) with a Rockford Fosgate P200-2 amplifier (http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.asp?item_id=108227&locale=en_us) installed at my local car audio store. It's currently in an enclosed box in my trunk. I don't think the person who installed my system tuned my amplifier at all, because there was a lot of distortion (even when the volume on my head unit was barely on). Turns out the Punch EQ was set to the max, so I turned it down to the min and that helped the distortion significantly. However, there is still a lot of distortion coming out of the sub, and when I tried tweaking the gain and frequency knobs I basically got either no distortion but weak weak bass or some distortion and good bass. What I'm asking is, how do I get my subwoofer to hit tighter and cleaner? Is the distortion due to an incorrect tuning of the gain/frequency, or is the sub just too big for a tight and clean kick? I'm probably going to bring it back to the place I got it installed so I can get it tuned properly, but if the 12'' subs are just too big, maybe I should switch to smaller subs or something? Open Question: What are good excuses to call off work?

So, I've been working at a grocery store for 4 years, and because I've been there for awhile, I'm getting paid more than minimum wage, I'm getting paid $10. I hate my job SOOO much because they always screw me over, but I'm afraid of quitting and ending up with a job that pays $7.30 an hour. But I just recently started back up at school, which is most important right now. I told my manager that I can only work 15-20 hours a week so that I have time to study, and yet he still schedules me 35-40 hours a week leaving me no time to study! Tomorrow I'm supposed to work 11-8 but I have to read an entire book for an assignment I was just given today and I have to write a 3 page essay on it plus do work for my online class and I just don't know if I'll have the time... any good excuses or helpful advice? more

My mom met this guy at work and they just "knew" each other by saying hi in the hallways. He got fired and my mom didn't mind because they weren't close. However, they ran into each other one day in a store and he asked for her email. My mom was sweet and said okay. Ever since then, he has been telling her that he likes her, wants to meet her, go out, meet me, and have a relationship. My mom told him kindly that she isn't interested in dating, and finally after he begged and begged, she had to be rude to him and tell him no. He emailed my mom saying that he wanted to know more about her, etc. She told him some stuff like her favorite movie, etc. She didn't email him back quickly enough after he responded that he sent her over 6 emails in 2 days (we had gone out of town to see my grandma who was sick in the hospital) Then, he was like, "I'm begging you from the bottom of my heart to talk to me. I've never begged before." Keep in mind they don't even know each other at all! Then, he was like. "Chelsea (thats me) isn't 4 yrs old anymore, it's time for you to stop taking care of her and have a life with me." My mom still didn't respond. Then, he knew her fav movie was "Gone With the Wind" and he started having conversations in the email where he was pretending to be Rhett and she was Scarlett. I told her I thought he was crazy because he was whining, begging, making fantasies, being obsessive. She finally emailed him and said "if you email me or contact me again, i'll call the cops for harrassment" and he has still continued to text her and email her saying things like "i'm sorry. i hope your life gets better" I'm a little worried, we're listed and he knows her full name. Open Question: When I repaint a room do I just get the regular paint off the shelf from the store?

I painted my room red a year ago. Well this wasn't a good idea. Crappiest paint job of the year goes to me. So I'm going to just paint it back to white. I dont need some off form of white, just plain white. So, if I'm heading to Wal-Mart or wherever, do I just grab the paint off the shelf without having the employee do anything to it? more

why would you do this? the only thing it reminds me of is Evil , Ignorance, and Nazis... why would you do something that is like the crown jewel and most glaringly obvious symbol of willful, blind, and self-destructive ignorance? why would anyone want to be or do ANYTHING like the Nazis did? unless of course you somehow sympathize or agree with how Nazis lived... and died. Half my family were born in Germany, not Jewish, they were forced to join the Nazi party to get food.. and.. not be killed.. my grandmother wont really talk about it... but everything they had was taken or destroyed. years later when my great-grandmother visited us from Germany she saw some skinheads in a store wearing swastikas.. and she nearly had a heart attack freaking out about how stupid they were, how they had no idea what they were playing at.... that nazis were pure evil. i hope good triumphs over evil.. but can it triumph inside the human heart without destroying you? Hitler apparently couldnt take it.... do you think maybe you shouldnt let it go too far because maybe you will lose your ability to come back to God without a bullet in your head? if we start denying the freedoms and liberties of (INSERT RELIGION HERE) because they are perceived as wrong, evil, and inferior. and we start emulating Nazis.... well... Open Question: Storing toddler's shoes? Ideas..suggestions..etc?

My son's shoes are currently being stored in a hanging cars thing (hangs on the closet rack). It works good but takes up alot of room. His closet isn't tiny but also isn't huge either. I keep all of his older clothes for instance fall in the 2nd bedroom closet and keep his clothes like for now in his. But we are prego and i'm gonna need to take his clothes out of the now babys room and put them in his closet. Ive thought about putting them up top but the thing is, his shoes are small and i'm short. I'm afraid they will get all the way in the back where I can't reach them. So I just am open to any suggestions. I don't want the shoes out in the open in the room where he can mess with them. I would prefer for them to stay in his room but like I said i'm open to whatever! Open Question: Empire Earth III crash at startup?

I got the game today somewhat cheap (it's not a secondhand) and I'm beginning to regret it. I installed it, clicked play... delay of half a minute before the logo shows up, then poof: "Empire Earth has crashed, blah blah blah." I did a quick search on Google, apparently EVERYONE has problems with some type of crash, either starting a campaign or just playing a map, and after awhile the game crashes. But no one seems to have a problem like mine. I'm downloading the patch right now but I'm certain it won't do any good. What to do? I'm runningXP Home edition, with 2.80 GHz Pentium D, 2 GB RAM and an ATI Radeon HD graphics card, 256 MB. And I'll bet the store won't take back the CD. No secondhand gameshops where I live, either.I've now installed the patch. The game fails to start. I found a crack, ee3.exe, which is the executable that keeps crashing. The game still doesn't start. Black & White 2 also had MANY problems. Lesson learned: don't buy Sierra games, pirate them instead if you really want one.. They aren't worth my money, nor my frustration. Oh, and after the crack, the game logo showed up on the screen instantly when I clicked the desktop icon. What am I supposed to infer from this?! more

Open Question: Battling recent employer over unemployment. Denied, Reversed, and now Reversed to deny. Where now?

First off, I'm very intimidated by my recent boss. It's not because I have something to hide but because she has a very offensive and aggressive personality (which has been part of the problem) and due to some childhood trauma with my mother I'm having a hard time facing people who use their authority position in an aggressive manor. Here's are some of the details (link at bottom for the rest). I was fired In April for "policy violation with proper scheduling". What I was doing was when a manager (including myself) was going to take a lunch, they took an unpaid lunch, even if they were the only manager on duty. The policy was trained to me in 2006 as "all employees take unpaid lunches" and then on another occasion "all managers must stay in the store if no other manager is on duty". So I enforced (with me and my managers) to clock out for lunches and stay in the backroom doing nothing work related. Apparently, in the handbook (which was printed in 2006), it states that all managers will get paid for their lunch if no other manager is on the payroll. But I was doing it the wrong way for 4 years before they caught me and then terminated me without giving me a chance to correct my action (possibly because they had to pay out hundreds of dollars and they needed someone to take the blame - which my district manager had to prove was not her fault). I was forced by my intimidating boss to sign an acknowledgment form stating that I received the handbook (that had this policy) and that I read and understood it; even though most of us who signed it didn't have time to read it, it was just protocol to sign it and take the book home. When I filled for unemployment, they denied me In May by saying that my termination was due to intentional misconduct. When I appealed the decision, I sent two forms of information totaling 9 pages. In June, I received a reversal because a lot was going on that they felt was out of my control. The UIA back paid me from April and even today I'm claiming weeks of unemployment. At the end of August, I had a hearing with my recent employer that ended in their favor because none of the details that won me the initial reversal was exposed and my attorney (hired by the advocacy program) didn't want me to answer any questions with detail except "yes" or "no". After seeing the evidence that my district manager has against me (signed acknowledgment that I received the handbook, working for merged company for 6 years, and had manager intervene several times) I'm not even sure I have a defense since I was "at will" and it could all easily be connected with "misconduct". The law judge's ruling didn't say that I had to pay back the $5600 I claimed but it did say that starting September 27 the judge's ruling would be final. Today, I'm considering sending all the details to the Board of Review and appealing their decision but I don't know if that's going to help. I can produce 16 pages of information of all the things that occurred that lead up to my termination (district manager didn't like me, I was the highest paid manager and I was hurting her bonus, I was getting good performance reviews but she wanted me gone anyways, ect) but I bet my recent employer can still fight through that because I broke more than one policy, I was only caught on the scheduling one (which happens to be the only one I wasn't aware I was breaking). My wife has details about what happened on the question listed below. If you have time to read it and you're a defense attorney, could you read it and give me advice if my case has merit or not? I live on a wooded farm land in michigan and we are having coyote problems from 2 years ago when the stupid DNR released a bunch back into the area. we own chickens and the coyotes just love it. we had tried baiting and hunting then when the problem started but got nothing. we went one year without a problem but they have come back and are targeting the chickens again. we noticed they attack during the day while the chickens are out and no one is outside just before a store or the weather turns, but it got even worse just the other day. my father was outside in the garden with my 8 year old neice and my sister was on the deck also when my neice came up and said that something was scaring the chickens. we lost another one right then. Open Question: Clinque 3 step anti-blemish doesn't seem to be working?!?

Hi guys, I've recently been suffering with quite bad spots. I'm 16.. and i've noticed they come around quite bad just before my period. I went to my local large Boots store, and went upto a clinique counter. I was given the Clinique 3 step anti blemish set. I've had it for a week, been following it step by step, twice a day. It seemed to slightly clear up.. but i've got home today and I just seem to have the same painful large spots! She also gave me the anti-blemish foundation, it's good coverage.. but it keeps making my skin show up dry and still gives me spots! My Mum used to use Clinique when she was younger, and she said it was really good. I'm not sure weather I should go back.. to change my products? Okay so I'm 18, just realized I was a lesbian..and in a senior in high school, I just started school again in August. In April, right before I finished my last semester, a teacher asked me to guide a new girl around school, being that we had a couple of classes together. This may be a long one so please hang around to read I am desperate. I am a 29 YO only child with no husband or kids. I was raised by a single mother who never dated and never really had any friends or a life of her own, it was mostly dedicated to her mother and once incarcerated brother. So in a sense I have always felt as though l was drafted into a friend position as I was always her ride or die person. I left for college and didnt look back because I yearned for independence and a chance to get to know myself.I had always felt that I had been controlled by my mom because I was. I felt as though she wanted to live vicariously through me and wanted me to appear to others as the good daughter who was always doing or accomplishing something. So to lake a long story short I left for about 7 years. After grad school I moved back home. I lived with my mom just over a year and then moved out on my own. The first three years were fine I slid back into my subservient role of what mommy and grandma wanted me to do (i.e. go here for me, stop at the store for me, can you pick me up, meet me here .etc.). Well the end part of last year and the majority of this year I have had a boyfriend (my first serious relationship) and my mom has FLIPPED out on me. She constantly tells me I dont know how she feels about it, that I have never showed concern about her feelings about the relationship, that she didnt prepare for this day to come and I am not being considerate of her and that I am selfish. I told her I feel for once in my life its okay to be selfish with my time I think ive earned it. We simply just dont get along at all anymore. We are tolerant of each other but not what we used to be and in all honesty I havent changed, she has. My mom has met my bf and thinks he's an ok person however she has stated she thinks I can do better and that she see's things I cant. I cant help her understand I am almost 30 something I will and want to learn on my own. Its all tooo much and its driving me insane. Last night was the final straw, she called me very rudely and said have you tried to get tickets for Oprah like I asked or is your mind all caught up? When did she ask 2 MONTHS AGO!!! Open Question: WRITING A NOVEL what is the best method of backing up my work on my PC?

I doubt a USB of 8GB would suffice for a 60, to 80,000 word novel. I am writing my book on my desktop which has sufficient hard drive, but even with anti-virus, my PC has gone down and i have lost everything on it. I want a good back up in case this happens again. I am saving my work to disc but it is 'read-only' and so i am unable to edit the work.(something i constantly do) so i want some back up system that allows me to edit my work as i go along as well as storing it safely. I will try and make a long story short. I moved to another state to be with my boyfriend. We have been together for 7 years. Some good times some bad but we always had lots of love for each other and hated being apart. Well in June I had a miscarriage and a few days later had a DNC done. We lived with his parents...step dad a drunk and mother bi-polar. She threatened if I ever got pregnant again and anything happen between me and her son she would sew me for custody! She is telling me this about a week after I just lost a baby! Then out of the blue she kicks me out of the house, threatens to kick my butt and wouldn't let me back in the house to get my things. Told me she hates me and made up lies to everyone about me. LIKE I HAVEN'T JUST BEEN THRU ENOUGH! Well I had no place to go so I had to move back to Florida. After the DNC I never got a period. Things were getting tough between me and my BF long distance and he broke up with me but we remained best friends and talked everyday. I went to visit him in August so he could give me some of my things back and we just really missed each other. I told him I thought i was pregnant again. I took 2 tests and both came out positive. At first he seemed upset because we were so far apart now but at the same time seemed like everything would be ok because for all the years I have known him i figured he would man up. Well i was wrong. as soon as I told him I went to the doctor and they told me I got pregnant right after the DNC he got very upset with me! I told him after the DNC we needed to start being careful...he thought pulling out was enough. I told him if I got pregnant again I warned him. Well he told me i got pregnant on purpose because I am trying to trap him. He told me he is not happy and doesn't want the baby and he will pay for me to have an abortion. I told him I didn't get pregnant on my own and he needs to step up or leave me alone cuz It is not his body or his decision and I am not killing our baby. I tried to get him to understand what my body has been threw the past few months and no way I am having an abortion because he is 29 and doesn't want to grow up! I have been thru 3 miscarriages...cant take to lose another! He started threatening me via text that if I didnt get rid of it..."it wont be pretty" he said "the war is on". i said what war? im not asking him for anything. I can do this on my own. If he wants to go whore around then go for it (btw he has already started dating around after a 7 year relationship...he moves fast apparently). told him for once stop thinking with the wrong head and grow up. cut the cord with his mom! I asked him after what we ment to each other why he has such hate toward an innocent baby. I have never seen such a cold hearted side to him! he said if I had the baby he would take me to court for full custody! I am trying SO hard to do all I can for me and this baby and he is stressing me out so bad! why would he want to take the baby after wanting me to kill it? Is it cuz of his crazy mommy? if he does take me to court i kept his texts to show he wanted to kill it and didnt think he would take very good care of a baby he doesn't want. What do you think his chances are of winning custody? he is a pilot and hardly ever home so the baby would be with his mother at her pet store business which is no place for a newborn! I work at my parents restaurant 3 days a week for now. i am high risk so have to try and relax. i am also trying to go back to school to become a massage therapist to better my life for my baby. We live thousands of miles apart and i will breastfeed so there is no way he can get the baby. How can I tell my mom that I miss the old her? When I was a littlle bit younger, my mom used to be the worlds best mom. She would volunteer at my school, sit through practices, help us with homework, had a good job at the hospital and was happily married to my dad. Then everything changed... When I was about 7-9 she started getting involved with cocaine. She started drinking a little, doing different drugs, getting arrested, stealing. She stole my sisters car once and got in an accident, with my friend and I in the car too. That night, I was at my friends house, and we were listening to a police scanner and found out that she had been arrested. My mom and dad got divorced and my life kinda just changed instantly. There would be times when I would not see her for days, then she'd just come back like that. She's been in 5 different halfway houses and rehab centers over the past 6 years. There were times when she passed out at the grocery store when I was 7. When I was 11, she was high and was driving and got lost and made myself and her get into another car with someone I didn't know. Just met him off the street. </3 My dad started dating his now Fiance and I liked her. I like her mothering skills and how she is what my mom used to be. I don't want her to replace my mom, but I feel like she might. Because we moved states and I don't see my mom very much. I just want to tell my mom that I miss the old her, but I am not sure how to do this.. I want to tell her that she has impacted me in so many ways, good and bad. The good part is, now I get involved with a program that tells kids not to drink and drive or do drugs. Also another good thing is that I know what doing drugs can do to you. The bad thing is, half my childhood, I never knew what it was like to have a real mom.. Help? Ok so I'm 19 and going back to school in exactly one week. For the past 4 months, I haven't had a job. I'll admit that I wasn't very adamant about finding a job at first because I had money saved, but recently as my money ran out, I've been putting forth a good effort. My boyfriend and I have been dating for 3 months, and we've ALWAYS gone out and I've ALWAYS split the bills with him... which is pretty good considering I DIDN'T have a job. He'd pay for things the odd time, but who cares? He has a full time job. Now only about 3 days ago I have ran completely out of money... so going out isn't an option. I've been bummed about it so when I get invited out or it gets brought up I get really upset. Today he snapped on me and said "Why don't you just get a job at McDonald's or Tim Horton's." I'm 19 years old and have experience working at a grocery store among other places (which is FAR better than fast food sh it) and there's no way in hell I'm doing it. I think that's reasonable... just because I don't want to work at a disgusting McDonald's doesn't signify that I have no motivation or willingness to work. Furthermore, does he even have a reason to care? It's not like we live together and I'm expecting him to pay my bills or anything at all. Open Question: Contacts that you wear at night then take them out in the morning?

So I've always heard about contacts that you can put in while you sleep then when you wake up, you take them out and your vision is good, then when you sleep again you just put them back in and repeat the same steps. Does anyone know what those kind of contacts are called? I've seen them in eyeglasses stores before and I know my roommate said she wears them, but I wanted to know what they were called so I can look them up and learn more about them myself. Hi- I'm 17 and over the summer I got 3 jobs. 1. Coldstone Creamery- It's a fun place to work, I don't get many hours, and the hours that I do get are from 7pm-11pm (12 on weekends). I make $7.25/hr plus tips. This is a all year round job. And weekend nights are pretty important to work. 2. A catering place- I make $8.50/hr and get a good amount of hours. Most of the work is on weekend nights. It's very very very stressful and I don't 100% enjoy my co-workers. This slows down in January and picks back up in February. 3. A local farm stand store- I make $7.50/hr and get good hours. This will go until the 1st of november. I really enjoy it and love the people I work with, aswell as the customers. The problem is, Coldstone's and the catering places hours overlap on the weekends. Coldstone wants me working hours during the week, but I work at the farmstand, and I could just tell them I want to work on the weekend and the 2 days I get off a week at the farmstand, but then the catering place would have to go. Which would you keep? If i quit the catering place I could keep my coldstone job, and the other way around. The farmstand has to stay though, I can't quit that. more

Open Question: Question About Visual Basic,SQL DataTables, and Multi-Dimensional Arrays?

I am trying to pull data from the master table ("Master") and table("Master_Wargear"), then store it in an array, and then store it as purely text in a field of the selection table ("Main"). Then when selecting a row in the "Main" table, the items can be tossed back into the array for check boxes along the side. I am attempting this because there are literally hundreds of options and I have no desire to build a table with several hundred columns and then manually fill them all out. However, since I don't have a physical table on form, I cannot query "Master_Wargear". I am unsure on how to go about loading a table up as queryable data but not giving it an actual spot. The "Main" and "Master" tables are both up on form. Any advice or info would be GREATLY helpful. Open Question: What would happen if everyone refused to report any more abuse until Yahoo did a faster job of deleting it?

Much of the spam here eventually gets deleted, but not until after users have spent more time reading it and using the report abuse feature (which takes three clicks per reported item, plus at least two more to get back to the question) than actually answering questions. As long as it gets deleted eventually, it does not take up space on the server, so it costs Yahoo nothing, but we never get back the wasted time. As a protest against Yahoo (1) making us go through to time-consuming a process to report each spam answer, and (2) not deleting an answer until after multiple reports of that answer to that question, even if the same user has already posted that exact same answer to offer questions and been reported hundreds of times, I propose that everyone refuse to report any more abuse until Yahoo agrees to the following: 1. Once identical answers to ten or more different questions have been reported by at least three different reliable users (even if each individual answer was reported by only one user), all identical answers will be deleted unless a Yahoo employer reviews the answer and determines that it is not abuse. 2. All level 1 and level 2 users will be limited to posting any one identical answer to no more than ten questions until they reach level 3. 3. The process for reporting abuse will require no more than two clicks, and will return the user back to the original question automatically after the second click. (I would prefer one click, but someone might click report accidently, so a confirmation is a good idea.) With no users reporting abuse, no more spam would be deleted and Yahoo!'s servers would run out of space, so they would have either accept the demands or hire thousands of employees to find and delete the spam. Would this protest work or would Yahoo just buy more servers to store all the spam? more

Open Question: CAR has TROUBLE STARTING UP?

It's a 1994 Honda Accord. Auto. Fuel Injected It's doesn't start when it's cold, I mean when it hasn't been driven for over at least 4, not necessarily when the temp outside is cold, although it may be also, just got the problem recently and it's not the cold season around here yet. Well, we try to start the car, sometimes it starts up and flutters right away, but then is fine after it warms up, and sometimes it even starts up and clunks and then dies, sometimes it doesn't start at all. It appears to be some kind of gas issue, but I don't know if any air has anything to do with it. Also at the same time the check engine light comes on and on the dashboard cluster the "D4" (a drive gear) flashes on and off (blinks). I have no idea why the drive gear flashes. After the car warms up the car goes back to normal. Sometimes the check engine light comes on and stays on the whole time even after it is warmed up. I check the oil level and it is fine. There is plenty of gas in the tank, and the battery is good. That's all it does. So I don't know what exactly is causing the problem. I don't know if it is just a gas problem or if it may be some sort of air problem. Maybe should I clean the air filter or I also heard from someone to check if it is the O2 (oxygen) sensor. Any ideas? oil was changed with a new filter less than 500 miles ago. adn as for going to an auto parts store for the code reader, this car has an older different code system, no plug in, you need to read some blinking light code on the brain under the passenger front side kick panel. but I may try to figure that out, the one who tried to do the code didn't know how to read this oneit's not the battery, because it can start up in the same amount of time it takes a good working car to start up. and I am pretty sure there is no choke because this is a fuel injected engine, no carb more

Resolved Question: Did I/am I getting took?

Bear with me. I know it's a lot of info, but I really need help. You can probably skip to the second half if you want to get straight to the point. Husband deployed and I am FAR from home. I own a 94 Buick Roadmaster. About a month ago, my husband had the front brakes repaired. I don't have the details as the car is back in the shop and the receipt is in the car, but I'm going over there to get paperwork on everything that needs taken care of and can post details later if needed. Anyways, we were charged $500 for front brakes to be replaced. Now, my rear brakes have gone bad. For the record, I have to push the pedal pretty low to even start stopping and all the way to the floor to stop the car completely and it makes a hissing sound when I do so. It raises back up into position when I let off of it. Not knowing if there was a problem with the front brakes (having just replaced them), I called the company back. They towed the car over to have a look and see if it was an issue with the parts they had replaced. Well, finally after about 24 hours after the tow, I got word from them. And they are quoting me at $1200 to replace the rear brakes, brake lines, and master cylinder!!! This sounds outrageous! I talked to my husband's step dad who gave us the vehicle before we moved. He takes VERY good care of his vehicles (he's addicted to auto auctions lol) and he said he just replaced the front brake pads a couple of years ago and that he inspected the lines before we left (about 6 months ago) and there was no sign of damage, rusting, etc. I know the lines were either worn out, vandalized (as the brakes were fine on the way to store, and were having issues described when I left), or have been tampered with (mechanic?) because there was brake fluid on the two front tires...I didn't look at the rear ones. Basically, what I want to know is did I get ripped off on front brakes? Am I getting ripped off (if I agree) on the additional repairs needed? Assuming that everything they are saying is true, (needing complete replacement on rear, brake lines, and master cylinder) would it really cost $1200 to repair?! That has to be like at least $700 in labor, right?! Silly me for assuming that just because the repair shop is on post it is reputable/fair. Oh, and for the record, it's Firestone. Just in case anyone has any insight into the company in particular. more
